CashTokens

Tokens and NFTs that live inside the coin itself. No token contract, no approvals to drain, and under a cent to mint or send.

Build with CashTokens

Start here. These tools let you mint, send and read tokens. A test mint costs about a tenth of a cent.

TokenStork

A directory of every CashToken ever minted, from its own indexer: live supply, holders, NFTs, BCMR metadata, prices and TVL. Also mint and airdrop tools, per-block stats and a daily token briefing.

Token Pioneers: CashTokens Tutorials

Tokens without the EVM baggage

On most chains a token is a smart contract that keeps a ledger of balances. On Bitcoin Cash the token is part of the coin you hold.

Native, not a contract

Since May 2023, every BCH output can carry fungible tokens or an NFT. Miners validate the token rules. No one deploys or owns a token contract.

No approve() to drain

Old token approvals are a major cause of losses on EVM chains. CashTokens have no allowance system. Only a signature from your keys moves your tokens.

Under a cent to mint or send

You pay postage per byte, not gas for computation. A mint or a transfer costs well under one cent, so testing and small drops stay cheap.

Same proof of work as BCH

Tokens move in normal BCH transactions. They get the same SHA-256 proof-of-work security as the coin itself, with no bridge or sidechain.

NFTs that hold state

An NFT carries a commitment that contracts can read. Since the May 2026 upgrade it holds up to 128 bytes, enough for receipts, tickets or game state.

Metadata you can verify

BCMR registries attach names, symbols and icons to a token category. Wallets check the registry against a hash the issuer published on chain.

The honest part

What CashTokens do not protect you from.

Issuers can still dump

Native tokens remove approval exploits. They do not stop a team from selling its own supply. Check the holder spread on TokenStork before you buy.

Liquidity is thin

About 20,000 token categories exist, but only a few hundred trade on Cauldron, Fex or TapSwap. Many tokens have no market at all.

Contracts can have bugs

Tokens used inside covenants inherit that covenant's risk. There are no admin keys, but a flawed contract stays flawed. Read audits where they exist.
